Like most medicines, antiretroviral (ART) drugs can cause side effects. Children may experience diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting, rash, lipodystropy, etc. These unwanted effects are often mild, but sometimes they are more serious and can have a major impact on health or quality of life. Additionally, Gokul being in the outskirts of Pune city, taking a child to good medical clinic or hospital was becoming a crucial time consuming task.
Understanding the importance of “Prevention is better than cure”, Manavya in collaboration with Budrani Trust have established "Krishnarpanam Niramay Medical Research Centre" project. We have 2 doctors and qualified nurses to attend to children’s minor health issues and if situation so arises that a child needs advancedmedical treatment, admit the child in good government hospitals.
